our Facilities and the Local Area

There is ample parking on site for visitors arriving by car

or see alternative transport options here. Our visitor facilities include:

Ticket Office and Refreshments

Purchase tickets and pick up our information leaflets. We also offer a small selection of snacks and hot and cold drinks. The Coalface is only available during open hours, see Opening Times and Pricing for more information.

Toilets and Changing Area

Our visitor facilities at The Coalface have toilets, baby changing and space to change out of wet clothes. The facilities are cleaned regularly but please inform a member of staff if you notice anything that needs attention. We’re here to help.

Picnic Area

Benches and seating areas to enjoy your own picnic. Please help to keep the area clean by putting your rubbish in the bins provided and leaving your bench clear. The picnic area is fenced but next to the car park so please keep an eye on kids & dogs!

Covered Space

We have a covered area with bench seating at The Coalface where you are welcome to rest, shelter and enjoy your refreshments. The covered seating is surrounded by some incredible photos of the Multiverse too!
