Our first phase of groundworks is complete
we’re ready to open crawick multiverse on 1st april 2022
As part of our programme of Destination and Venue Development activity, we are excited to be taking our first steps towards realising our vision for Crawick Multiverse.
With financial support from South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) and match funding. Our first phase enhancements are now complete. These focused on the Sun Amphitheatre and the Desert, helping to prepare them for use as event performance and service areas.
So, what have we been up to?…
Over the past few months, works have been underway to improve land drainage and reinforcement for heavy vehicle access. As well as the creation of a ,multi-functional space.
In addition to this, we have been able to make improvements to the primary access road and lower footpath networks along the Comet Walk and the North-South Line. This will help to facilitate safe access and egress during events and improve the day to day visitor experience.
All of the works have been completed in a way that supports, strengthens and protects our important landforms. We have worked with our advisers to ensure that there is no adverse aesthetic impact on the designed landscape.
Working in partnership…
Crawick Multiverse Trust gratefully acknowledges the financial and other support received. We are delighted to have worked with local companies on the project. As part of our sustainability promise, we hope to continue working with local partners and in turn, contribute to our local economy in a positive way.
Our special thanks go to McGowan Miller Construction Consultants and Asher Associates for their professional and technical advice and guidance. David Hardie Engineering Ltd were awarded the contract to undertake the works. They worked through some of the worst weather conditions possible. Despite three storms, hail, blizzards, high winds and torrential rain, works have been completed on schedule and to an incredibly high standard. Thanks to this outstanding work, we are now able to re-open the site to visitor on 1st April.
What will our visitors notice?
Now we’re ready to open, we hope that our returning visitors will welcome the improvements. If this is your first time visiting, we hope you have a great experience!
We do have one request – For the next couple of months, there will be a small area of grass in the Sun Amphitheatre which will be fenced off. We’re asking our visitors to please avoid this area for the time being. This will give the new turf time to settle in.
