As part of the Summer Solstice Wellbeing Day at Crawick Multiverse on Thursday 20th June, visitors will enjoy a Polyhedra Dance performance during the Midday Gathering at the Sun Amphitheatre.
A one hour dance performance developed from the work of dance pioneer Rudolf Laban, the grandfather of contemporary dance, will take place from 1pm – 2pm. The idea of ecstatic architecture links to the same creative principles used by Charles Jencks to produce the different landforms at Crawick Multiverse.
Contributors from 1 – 2pm will include:
Nonsuch History and Dance: Medieval Motions through the Cosmic Realm – come see how each moving planet has its own dance!
Keneish Dance: Balance!* Our cells in our bodies are endlessly regenerating – come see a dance inspired by our own moving spheres!
Playing Around: Brazilian music by composer Villa-Lobos is turned into a mesmerising solo dance with opera singing by Denise Telles Hofstra and supported by Rio Laban.
Dance Together: The performance will end with an opportunity for visitors to join the circle dance of life, or to simply sway from their seat!
