Summer Solstice at the Multiverse
Tuesday 21st June 2022
With special early morning opening from 4.00am
Programmed activities between 8.30am and 12.30pm
We are delighted to announce a brand new outdoor event to celebrate our special connection between Crawick Multiverse and the summer solstice.
Join us for a family friendly and relaxed programme of musical performances, wellbeing workshops and a live theatre performance on Tuesday 21st June 2022.
Enjoy the acoustic folk and traditional music sounds of The Galloway Agreement, an intimate solo harp performance by Wendy Stewart in the unique setting of Cosmic Collisions and the Cairn Chorus choir, who will deliver a special performance from the spiral galaxies of Andromeda and The Milky Way – as well as being entertained by Motiv8 Dance School and their young performers.
Join us to celebrate the longest day of the year!
The highlight of the morning will take place at the heart of the Multiverse in the Sun Amphitheatre, where The Walking Theatre Company will perform a bespoke live theatre piece that focuses on themes related to the summer solstice. The performance will connect place, space and time and will take place over the exact timing of the solstice at 10.13am.

We are also pleased to welcome wild wellbeing practitioner Becky Rose, who will deliver family yoga and meditation workshops; and Abby Galton who will provide a Tai Chi demonstration and the opportunity to take part in a Quigon workshop.
For our younger visitors, family art workshops will run throughout the morning, delivered by our local partners from A’ the Airts in Sanquhar.
For early risers wishing to celebrate the solstice in their own way or just experience the peace and tranquillity of the Multiverse while watching the sun come up, the day will start with a special early morning opening from 4.00 am.
Our informal programme is designed so that you can choose how you spend the morning.Tickets are priced at £8.00 for adult admission with accompanied children admitted free of charge. We have ample on-site car parking which can also be booked when purchasing tickets.
Our visitor facilities at The Coalface will be open providing accessible toilet and baby changing facilities. Or bring a blanket and picnic for a great day out!
