Dance Tent DJs set for ‘mind blowing’ Music at the Multiverse weekend

From Mallorca Lee and Malcolm X to Bay City Rollers and Glasvegas

Live music and DJs at one of Scotland’s most amazing venues

Mallorca Lee (ultra-sonic x Public Domain), Malcolm X and a host of other DJs are gearing up for a mind-blowing weekend in our incredible new Dance Tent at this year’s Music at the Multiverse.

At the same time there will be a stellar line up of live bands – from Glasvegas to the Bay City Rollers – entertaining audiences on our amazing Main Stage.

Our two-day event, on 3-4 September, at Crawick Multiverse is set to be an event you do not want to miss!

Mallorca Lee will be bringing his 1994 brand on the Sunday to play a whole day of Old Skool music by the artists responsible for making back in the day so unforgettable.

He said: “I’m really excited by this, after 10 years of sell-out 1994 events in Glasgow, this is the first time we’ve taken it outside in the fresh air!”

“And it’s going to be amazing – it’s such a spectacular place. And having 1994 in a tent, in a field, with a great line-up, filled with brilliant music – it’s right back to the roots of rave.”

Among the other DJs taking part is Malcolm X, from Kelloholm, close to Crawick Multiverse who has been recruiting some of the best local DJs for the Saturday – as well as arranging for the well-known Jamie B to fly in from Belfast.

Malcolm X, who has been a DJ for 30 years, said: “The first thing that’s going to blow people’s minds is the location – it’s just incredible and that’s before you even add in the music.

“But having dance music and a two-day event in a place like the Multiverse is just incredible, especially when you’ve got superstars like Mallorca there, along with Jamie B and some really great guests including DJ’s from the region.”

The Dance Tent line up is:

Dance Tent: Saturday (presented by Malcolm X)

  • Jamie B (Belfast)
  • Michael Smith (Thornhill)
  • Derek McDowall (Dumfries)
  • Stephen Holland (Cumnock)
  • Steven Allan (New Cumnock)
  • Brett Lawrie (Sanquhar)

Dance Tent: Sunday (1994 – 100% Oldskool and anthems)

  • Mallorca Lee
  • George Bowie
  • Joe Deacon
  • Malcolm X
  • Lee Clark (Dumfries)
  • MC Cyclone

The Main Stage will feature live music and will once again be located at the heart of the Multiverse in the magnificent Sun Amphitheatre.

Headline acts include the Scottish indie rock band Glasvegas, kilted Celtic rockers the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, pop favourites The Bluebells and Bay City Rollers.

Councillor Archie Dryburgh, Chair of the Council’s Communities Committee said: “Music at the Multiverse continues our region’s brilliant recent tradition of great live music events. Don’t miss the opportunity to go up to the Crawick Multiverse at Sanquhar to take in the event and enjoy the scenery and fab line up. If local people can get behind Music at the Multiverse it can go from strength to strength.”

Music at the Multiverse will also be a showcase for live music from Dumfries & Galloway and Ayrshire.

Main Stage: Saturday

  • Glasvegas
  • The Bluebells
  • The Dogz (D&G)
  • Cammy Black (D&G)
  • The Mocking Byrds (Ayrshire)

Main Stage: Sunday

  • The Red Hot Chilli Pipers
  • The Bay City Rollers
  • Redfish Blues Band
  • Archie Irving (D&G)
  • Pedro and the Pirates (D&G)

Music at the Multiverse will be a family-friendly event where people can enjoy a wide variety of music in a relaxed atmosphere.

There will be a fully licensed bar and locally-produced food from Brigston & Co and Sweet Sadie’s Ice Cream and Desserts.

  • Crawick Multiverse would like to thank event sponsors The Globe Inn, Shaw, Hardie’s Engineering, J&J Currie, McGowan Miller Construction Consultants, JG Findlay, Just Breathe O2 and Asher Associates and a big thank you to our Funders: Dumfries & Galloway Council, EventScotland and Creative Scotland.
