Crawick Artland Trust is to host two information presentations in Kirkconnel and Sanquhar on the evenings of 7th and 8th April unveiling some of the plans for launch weekend and beyond for the region’s newest landart project, the Crawick Multiverse.

Taking place at 7pm, the Crawick team will be welcoming members of the community who have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the project and are keen to find out more about what’s in store.

With the first evening taking place in Kirkconnel Miners Memorial Hall and the second in Sanquhar Town Hall, local residents will have the opportunity to get a first glimpse of the project as it nears completion and will hear about ways to get involved in the community launch event scheduled for the 19th June.

Crawick Artland Trust has commissioned internationally renowned land artist Charles Jencks to create the landart project to help with the regeneration of the open cast mine which originally occupied the site.
It is anticipated that the Crawick Multiverse will draw visitors, not only from across the region, but from across the UK and beyond to Upper Nithsdale.

Duncan Mackison from the Crawick Artland Trust said: “The local communities of Kirkconnel, Kelloholm and Sanquhar have witnessed the work that has been in progress at Crawick for a number of years, so it’s great that we are now nearing our official launch and can engage with local residents about the exciting and unique project on their doorstep.

“Myself and the team will be on hand over both evenings to chat to residents so we can start to share the vision of the Crawick Multiverse and how it will benefit the residents of the local communities.”

Timings:
Tuesday 7th April – 7pm– Kirkconnel Miners Memorial Hall
Wednesday 8th April – 7pm– Sanquhar Town Hall
